Where One Can Write - For Any Level Of Experience
By Jason Stevens
I have been writing for nearly 2 years now. I started writing after I felt the need to have an 'outlet' for what I wanted to say and a desire to over a period of time to build an online income. After much research, I find a few avenues work best for me and my level of writing experience. Alot of new people whom are introduced to the web with an interest to write, usually are bewildered with at least, where to make a start. There are also alot of great places for those of you whom are professional writers, freelance writers, copywriters, published authors and the like. For those of you just starting out. The best single 'guide' I can suggest is when you are starting out and is very true for your writing in the future, is to "write what you know". No good writing on a blog you operate about 'how to make money blogging' if this is your very first blog. What you can write about is an exhaustive list; your hobbies, your interests, your personal experiences, places you have visited, reviews of events like music concerts, jazz festivals, restaurants you visit, support for your favourite charity. A few good places to start for you budding writers are: www.associatedcontent.com www.ezinearticles.com www.goarticles.com www.xomba.com Each of these four sites allow for article writing. Whats an article you ask? It's a short form of writing about anything from a broad to a specific niche topic from 250 to 1000 words. They are made up of a title header, an introduction and a main body of information. The best articles are informative, stay on topic and provide value. Another reason to write articles is it's also the best free way to generate internet traffic to a website, blog, social network, forum, etc. After a period of time and you are more adept at writing articles here are a few more sites to explore. These places are more than just for writing articles and can provide more experience to enable you to try different ways of article writing and explore new options. www.squidoo.com www.ehow.com www.redgage.com www.hubpages.com www.blogger.com www.wordpress.com These sites can allow for quite specific niches of information and allow one to expand with more than just one article. The last two are blogging sites. Blogging is a web log, and are usually used to update a log of information on a subject with articles, pictures, videos and external web links and visitors can view and comment on the applied information. Electronic advertising like Google's Adsense also can be applied to a blog, hence they make an income for some. For those writers whom have been on the web for years (the amateur professionals?), these people may have one or more blogs, websites, ebooks, and also utilise these sites as listed above as well as others. For the more professional writers and alot of people whom one can call non-professional yet have a very large body of well written work they utilise many websites that actually earn them a decent income. These websites cater for individuals or companies that are after specific types of articles, groups of articles, web site information, technical specifications, brochures, online newsletters or e-magazines and related subject matter. Usually these can be on a one off, or continued contract basis. Copywriters, journalist and freelance writers provide content for these companies or commercial interests. www.constantconent.com www.helium.com Whatever you experience or level of writing, keep it up and have fun.

Contributor's Note
I do not claim to be a professional writer, I write for fun and for profit. If you are an experienced writer (journalist, frequently published novelist, professional freelance writer, copywriter and the like) and I have made some incorrect assumptions here, please let me know !!!

Thankyou , I feel I have covered many bases with this subject, especially for those starting out.
That is a good summary of article writing if you are trying to be popular and acceptable, as you say, at all levels. The trouble is that so many people are writing to be popular while, at the same time, producing nothing original, that many articles on even the best article sites hardly get looked at, let alone posted onto another web site. Five years ago I could write an article for Ezine Magazines and find it high on Google just a few hours later. Now this only happens when I write for my own sites or for the minority, high quality article sites like Qondio. Article writing needs to be looked at as a real task to put effort inro or you will soon become 'another' writer. It staggers me when I look at some popular article sites and see the articles are lucky if they have been read 20 times! New writers posting at Ezine Articles will see that many of their articles will be rejected for being too similar to an article by somebody else.

Hey There Oldcoot, I agree with places like Ezine Articles, very difficult to produce work with their standards that they require, I have had four times the amount of articles rejected than I have had approved. Associated Content is similar until you reach 20 articles produced and accepted. Also another issue is that article writing has reached a certain critical mass, hence unless you are producing ALOT of articles, it becomes difficult to find your material amongst the sea of other articles. Like anything else, article writing is a skill and can become a great skill over time. It pains me to see so many writers that produce content that they know little about or desire to write about what is popular, rather than what they know. I like it here as there is a lot of content that is topical, good subjects are covered and most articles here actually make me think about the subject. Thanks for your comments
Great intel and bookmarked... thanks!

Thankyou LadyD, Just sharing a little bit about some stuff I do know about.
Thanks, Jason. I'm learnin' this stuff as I go along. I've only been doing it since the end of last August.

Hey There James, Keep it up with your intel, I really find that I believe you have found your niche here with history topics, I know a little about history, yet a lot of what you have written I never even knew about. If you ever start a blog on history, let me know, I would be more than happy to visit.
Thank you for sharing this information, Jason. Being a newbie, Qondio is the first site that I've been on and it has been a great experience. I need to learn more about writing and linking to maximise the benefits. Best to you. Frederick

My absolute pleasure Frederick, I'm still some what new here myself, and I think that you are held in quite high regard here. I believe for someone in there 70's learning about the internet and achieving some goals shows that some of the younger folk have much to learn, and I feel you are already providing that.
Don't forget Triond! That is my favorite. I am very disappointed with Helio though. I like Squidoo and Associated Content very much.
CONTRIBUTOR'S REPLY
Thankyou Janet, Triond I have heard of in passing, yet is one I am to explore.
I like Associated Content for writing how to do wood floor techniques. I also like to take a collection of similar pictures and create a slide show on AC adding famous quotes related to the pictures as captions. I have had just a few articles rejected on AC and somehow they then become Qondio Intels. Imagine that!!
CONTRIBUTOR'S REPLY
This is another reason why other sites are also beneficial, I have not just articles on AC but original music pieces too.
